Virtual FESTIVE Food & Wine Matching Workshop - A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (ONLINE TASTING)
Have you ever wondered which wine to serve during your Christmas lunch or what goes well with cold turkey on Boxing Day? – well this is the tasting for you!
The evening is aimed at demonstrating which wines go well with different types of food - ESPECIALLY WITH CHRISTMAS FOOD IN MIND! Our detailed food and wine matching workshop will help you understand which wines to pair with a wide variety of meat, poultry (turkey included!), fish vegetarian dishes as well as desserts (mince pies too!) and cheese.
The matching of food and wine is a matter of personal taste. There are no hard and fast rules, but just remember it is easiest to think of wine as a sauce and match the strength of flavours and weight of the dish with the wine. To learn more, join us on our mouth-watering workshop!
After the workshop you will have a good basis of knowledge that will help you combine wines with food and enhance your eating pleasure! It is THE ideal occasion to learn about how to pair Christmas food & wine a few weeks before the real event!.
All YOU have to do is purchase a ticket by clicking the "BOOK" button, as you would normally. A ticket entitles ALL members of your household to join in. There is no need to buy one ticket per person. Once your ticket purchased, you will receive a confirmation email with your ZOOM web link and password 2 days before the event itself.
I would recommend buying in advance: 1 bottle of Pinot Noir from Burgundy (Bouchard Aine et Fils - available from Sainbury's & Tesco - or Louis Jadot - available at Asda - would be great, but any other winery will do) and 1 bottle of Chardonnay from Burgundy (as above), as well as 1 bottle of Cotes du Rhone Village or a Rhone Valley Cru - every supermarket will have examples of these wines but don't worry, we'll email approx 3 weeks before with some up to date suggestions at the current prices. We'll be opening these wines LIVE with you on the night. Plus make yourselves a food platter with the following nibbles: slices of cold turkey, cold stuffing, port salut cheese, gruyere cheese, slices of saucisson with an herby rind, some smoked salmon, fresh lemon wedges, and finally some Boursin with herbs and garlic.
