Christmas Port and Cheese (ONLINE)
This indulgent evening live on Zoom offers an excellent chance to get to know Port intimately. For our previous port and cheese students this is a great opportunity to pick up some new tips and perhaps taste some different ports while the newcomers will see anew how port is made and learn about the stunning Portuguese region it comes from.
It also gives you the chance to buy in your ports for Xmas and use them for our tasting evening.
You will taste your way through 3 carefully selected ports, while trying 3 different cheeses. This is a mind-blowing experience for your tastebuds ... what fun!
We'll experience diferent ports from our Autumn tasting... the ports you will try are:
- Reserve Port - basic ruby port can be a little harsh, but the reserves can offer a smoother experience for a still very reasonable price.
- Crusted port - An old English favourite.. and as I'm old and English one of my favourites too!
- Single Quinta Vintage port - taking time in bottle but not quite as long as declared vintage and so not as expensive.
This will be a relaxed and eye-opening evening ... from the comfort of your own living-room, during which you will learn how Port is made and be surprised by the different styles. Experiment with some of the principles behind matching food to sweet wines like Port.
A list of recommended ports and cheeses to buy will be emailed to you after the purchase of your ticket along with advice about decanting your Crusted and Vintage ports and how to plan to preserve them for Xmas (if you can avoid the temptation to pass them by beforehand!).

1 ticket will entitle everyone in your household to attend this tasting (no need to buy a ticket per person!).
