Latin Passion - 4 Week Wine Course (Preston)
Wine from the Latin countries is well known in the UK, with favourites like Rioja and Barolo at the forefront. The New World countries of Argentina & Chile have become favourites on our tables too, with Chilean Carmenere and Argentine Malbec leading from the front. All of the Latin countries have a flair and passion for wine and winemaking so we are going to examine with you some of the finest examples from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Chile and Argentina.
This course will examine some of the more dynamic wines being produced, many away from the mainstream such as delicious Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon blends from Italy, or Monastrell/Syrah blends or Gewurztraminer from Spain. We may even throw in a relative from other countries such as Australian Tempranillo to compare against native examples.
Be prepared to be delighted by some fantastic traditional and non-traditional wines from these countries.
Week 1 - Italian Style
Week 2 - Spanish Passion
Week 3 - Portuguese Flair
Week 4 - Chile & Argentina Talent
This is a chance to taste wines from these great wine-making countries that demonstrate flair and dynamism. Something a little different from those experienced on the 8-Week World of Wine Course. Don't worry though, this course as all of our courses is presented in such a way that you don't need any previous experience of wine tasting.
