Discover Spain - 4 Week Course (Lancaster)
Travel to the land of flamenco, tapas, siestas, sangria and sunshine! Spain have some of Europe's best value for money wines around. In addition to well-loved classics like Rioja, , Ribera del Duero and Cava we'll be tasting some of the wines coming out of up and coming regions like Jumilla, we'll be learning about new grape varieties like Bobal and seeing how a new generation of winemakers is pushing Iberian wines to a new and exciting level. There is so much to taste and enjoy in these four evenings...
We also travel to Rias Baixas in Galicia to taste one of Spains finest whites - the delicious, peachy Albarino. From a bit further south delicious vibrant Verdejo/Sauvignon Blancs from Rueda, and superb reds from Ribera. From the region around Barcelona - velvety Tempranillo, and some top new wave blends from Enate. From the Mediterranean Levant area, inland from Alicante some big powerful reds from Monastrell (aka Mourvedre), and softly warm Garnachas.
Finishing in the south with more Tempranillo from Valdepenas and La Mancha - some of the best value for money reds in the world. And we couldn't leave Spain without trying some of their deliciously dry ice-cold Finos (with fishy Tapas), and nutty, soft appetising Amontillados and Olorosos.
