Introduction to Wine in Blackpool

This special Blackpool Illuminations Saturday Wine Tasting Day offers a nice alternative activity for your Blackpool Illuminations long weekend stay.  The day starts with a tasting of champagne before going on to taste 11 other wines.  We provide lunch as well as the wines, tasting glasses, and full tasting notes.  Just bring yourself along and enjoy !

COURSE OUTLINE>

· Introduction to the Worlds major wine regions.  A full day's tasting of 12 quality wines starting with Champagne and including lunch.

· New World Wines (Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, California) vs Old World Classics (France, Italy, & Spain)

· Major Red Grape Varieties – Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Tempranillo & others.

· How wine is made - grapes, fermentation, ageing
